our senses gone
an unbroken dawn
cracks and poaches its whites by the sea
the folding of time into the sun and elements
overexposed the same
no one to blame
adventure magnificent and tragic
we will never love like that
again

they grew very lonely with dreams of leaving
the farm
they began to recite a spell they inherited
from the great great ones toward
expansiveness
one morning
sun peeking over the ridge
dew on the grass
enfolded with promise
they followed the first rays
west

Oh! I forgot to mention i could not wear my prescription eyeglasses so i got a little bit lost every single day of the ride. We were trying to follow arrows taped to the ground to know where to turn and thankfully we had maps and crew looking out for us, so i never went more than a mile or two off track. Also, in Auburn i greeted a unicyclist with a coffee who was riding a steep grade like a pro, and one gorgeous solitary deer the last day on the American River Trail heading home. There were plenty of horses and cattle and goats and bees in boxes, and the occasional snake which had unfortunately been run over. We also got crop dusted the first day at one of our rest stops. The planes seemed to be dusting us more than the fields! Don’t know what that was about – we don’t look like crops? – but it felt like a mean country bumpkin trick and we got out of there as soon as we could!

Get used to it….
you may not have a choice
Get used to indifference to your causes. Only a few will care about you, so get down on your knees and show them some deference. Take them to coffee if your knees have bummed out. Get used to relocating, if your bank accounts aren’t impenetrable. If you have enough money for food and shelter, you can still survive. Relocate your spirit toward adventure. Nesting is for the birds! Get used to tornadoes or find a stronger vine and hang on for dear life. Some of us like to spin around for dear life! Unless our homes are anchored, man, we gotta keep flapping our wings and be ready. Get used to extremity. A good way to start is in the shower. Turn hot to cold and back to hot. This is good for your chakras. This is good, the shock. Get used to it.
The day even went odd was a fraud, perpetrated on half and one of humanity. Just to offset even one solitary instance of virtue, demanded a terrible deed plus
a profanity!
K says to even the score:
choose your adventure!
